Little Blog - exposed at last

January 1st 2007 23:11
Just a quickie ... as they say.

My ultrasound was today and, as promised, here is a picture of Little Blog.

Little Blog
Little Blog at twenty weeks gestation

I reckon it's pretty clear but, if you can't tell, this is an image of Little Blog's face and torso, taken in profile.

And, finally, yes the radiologist told me the gender. Little Blog is definitely a little girl and she is healthy and looks fine at this stage.

Great news.

Andrea,

Wow! That is really clear. I haven't seen too many of these ultrasounds, but the ones I have seen aren't terribly clear. They usually look more like a blob. That's very exciting for you. And a little girl to boot. How lovely.

Here's hoping everything goes smoothly for you!

Thanks Kylie

My daughter (she's almost 8) is very excited about having a sister. She was very disappointed last time when the ultrasound on my son proved him to be a boy.

Now I guess I'll have to start thinking of names ...

Thanks for stopping by.

Nup. Don't get it ...

Liked the picture though ...

That might just be my womb fetish speaking though ...

Been trying to get back in since I came out ...

Have to go to Angus & Robertsons ... buy that book on subtext I've been meaning to buy for ages ...

Only really came over cos I like the colour of the blog ...

Didn't really have much to say ... Can't work out why I'm even typing ... as if iI need any more compulsive-obsessive disorders in my life ...

Now I've forgotten who I was typing to ... and that bloody tram out there!

It's nice to get out into the real world once in a while ... but after today? Nup. Half an hour was enough ...Going back inside for the next six months again ...

Beautiful! Absolutely wonderful news

I feel like there's so much baby talk around that I might catch the bug and start giving birth.

Maybe not. For now.

I hope your pregnancy goes well and your babygirl comes into the world healthy

I can't wait to have kids...

But not at 21.

Hi Candice

You're right. It was exciting, even though it's the third pregnancy the ultrasound never loses any of its charm.

Thanks for your comment.

Hello Trina

Thank you for your lovely words and best wishes.

But whatever you do, don't catch the bug yet !!! Enjoy everybody else's babies for a while longer.

21 is a time to party hard, after all.

Hi Cherry

Oh no ... you're not crying again, are you?

Between us we'll manage to fill a whole fruit bowl by the time we've finished.

Little Strawberry Blogette thanks you for your tears and your lovely words.

'From the strong place'? ... appropriate, maybe.

Congratulations Andrea,

...she looks like a fine baby girl too...

Have you chosen any names yet?

Lilla...

Comment by Andrea

January 2nd 2007 07:43
That's the next step, I guess, Lilla.

Both of my other children have Scottish names (don't ask me why because there's no Scottish in my background) so it might be nice to continue that trend.

Dusk has started my list with Aila, which is a Scottish name meaning from the strong place. But there aren't a lot of Scottish girls names I like.

I'll just have to keep my ears open.

Thanks for your lovely comments and support.

Hi JB

I have seen your posts on baby names and I thank you ... you have pointed out all the names to avoid.

I might just stick with Blogette after all ... how do you think that would go down when she goes to school!!??!?

Thanks for your congrats, JB

I'll need all the luck I can get. You'd think it would be so much easier to pick a name you like, wouldn't you.

That's a wonderfully cute baby you have. If only I were old enough to create one of my own... Ah well, that can wait. I must content myself with the cute little ultrasound you have kindly posted.

That's a great little child you have. I hope she grows up to blog on Orble just like her mother. I'm sure you've been to babynames.com, but incase you haven't, it's a wonderful place for names and their origin. I use it for character development in my stories.

Best of luck, and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and Blogette

Thanks Anthony

What lovely comments. My other daughter (who's 7) has already picked up the story writing bug ... she wrote a lovely story recently about farting teddies. All original and all her own words!!! Maybe Little Blogette will follow the family tradition.

I'll try babynames.com, now that we are officially girl-name hunting. I never thought of using a baby name site for character names in my book ... damn, I wonder what the name Kate means ??!?!?! I do hope it doesn't mean the same as the boy's name Cameron...

Thanks again, Anthony, for your words and support.

I just wanted to say another big thankyou to everyone who has passed on their best wishes and kind compliments regarding Little Blogette and my ongoing pregnancy.

Seeing the ultrasound for the first time, even though this is my third baby and I went through it all twice before, is a truly amazing experience and I feel honoured to have been able to share it with my Orble friends.

Thankyou, everyone, and I promise to try not to bore you all too much over the next twenty weeks with even more Little Blogette talk.

Then again, just wait until the birth ... maybe I should post a video ...

Andrea. xx

Hi Melissa

Yes, I'll accept all the accolades I can get ... damn fine specimen, isn't she.

I was impressed by the clarity of the ultrasound this time. I didn't remember it being quite so clear four years ago, although he did say that the technology hadn't really changed at all in that time.

Oh well, Little Blogette must be a very agreeable, good-natured little thing, to have got herself into such a photographically great position ...

... nothing to do with luck, of course.
