Healing qualities of honey

Burns: A mixture of honey and homemade ghee in 2:1 ratio if applied on superficial burns twice a day, it can help heal the burn and bring back the normal color to the skin.

Sore Throats: A teaspoon of honey with a dash of lemon in warm water can do wonders. Honey with mashed ginger and pepper powder will help cough and cold.

Stomach Ache: Honey diluted with water can ward off stomach aches and help in cases of dehydration.

Energy Booster: Honey is effective as pure glucose in providing athletes with the extra energy they need to perform better.


Skin: Honey can be used as a moisturizing mask for your skin and hair. Honey with olive oil acts as a good conditioner.

Anti-Ageing: Add 2-3 tablespoons of honey a day to your daily diet for boosting antioxidants and the body’s defense system. The darker the honey more antioxidants it contains.
