Below is the importance of fats in our body:

1. Provides essential fatty acids.
2. Carries fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K.
3. Satiates hunger to some extent.
4. Provides protective cushion to vital organs to help prevent injury.
5. Insulates body from heat loss and extreme temperature changes.
6. Provides energy from body stores in times of need.
