Oral Pill – Menstrual Periods

A new oral contraceptive pill was found to be highly effective in ending menstrual periods giving another lifestyle choice for women. The pill ‘Lybrel’ to be launched by global drug manufacturing company Wyeth Pharmaceuticals was tested on 2,134 women between the ages of 18 and 49 who took the low-dose oral contraceptive for a year to 18 months. Although the long-term safety of continuous contraception remains unknown after a month on the pill, 94% of the women experienced uterine bleeding reported online edition of health magazine.
