• Ash Gourd is generally cultivated for its nourishing and medicinal values. Its mineral and vitamin contents are calcium, phosphorus, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and vitamin C.
• It is generally used for making sweets and other curries. Ash gourd juice is highly recommended for maintaining general good health.
• Ash gourd is extremely low in calories and is used to treat obesity as it promotes metabolism and prevents sugar from being converted into fat.
• It is alkaline and has strong antacid action. It maintains the pH of the body and counteracts the acidity created in the stomach.
